6. Scoreboard and badges

6.1 What is my scoreboard?

The scoreboard presents the badges list, your scoring statistics and the score of your friends and people from all around the globe.
My statistics:
Presents typing and contribution statistics while using eType. You can view how many words you have typed using the software in total, and a summary of the last week and today. You can admire your eType contributions, by viewing how many new users you’ve invited and how many translations you’ve suggested to our dictionaries. If approved, these words will be added to eType next dictionary version. You can also invite more friends to enjoy eType from here.

6.2 How is the score calculated?

You receive a different scoring for each eType activity, as exampled in the table below.
You will not receive extra points for the same activity (same badge, like, etc) more than once in the same day.

6.3 Why did eType reset my score?

eType score is reset weekly to ensure fair play and fun.
Please note that badges you’ve earned are yours forever, and eType doesn’t reset them.

6.4 What are the badges?

Badges are tokens for your eType’s participation and contributions.
You will start with the “Newbie” (Early adaptor) badge, which is the badge you receive the first time eType’s suggestions window opens.
While using eType you’ll be able to earn many varied badges.
You can view a complete list of our active badges and details in the Badges list on the right panel of your scoreboard or on our site.
Colored badges are badges that you have already received. Gray badges are badges which you’ve not yet unlocked.
By mouse-hovering on a badge you can view more details and by clicking on it, you can share it on Facebook.

6.5 How do I earn badges?

Badges are earned when achieving different tasks and goals. Each badge is earned differently.
To learn how to earn each badge, mouse-hover on a badge in your scoreboard or enter the Badges list in our website.
The badges list is expending all the time and new badges are added frequently.
Tip: You can use the scoreboard statistics to check how far you are from earning your next typing or contribution badge.

6.6 How do I know when I’ve earned a new badge?

When earning a new badge, a special congratulation window will appear announcing the badge you’ve earned and its meaning.

6.7 What can I do with these badges?

The badges are a fun way to improve your writing skills while using eType. You can then go tell your friends on Facebook, by simply clicking on the badge’s icon. We will soon introduce new activities around this exciting new feature.

6.8 Can I earn a badge more than once?

Yes, there are some badges which you can receive more than once.
Competition related badges, such as champion badges can be received every time you reach first place.

6.9 Does eType reclaim my badges?

Badges you’ve received for completing assignments, such as inviting friends and adding translations are your to keep and are not reclaimed.
Champions’ Badges can be reclaimed in case another user reaches first place.

6.10 How can I reach my scoreboard?

You can open the scoreboard by clicking on the eType’s system tray icon, which is located in either the programs area or in your notifications area.
