4. Activate-Deactivate eType

4.1 How do I activate or quit eType?

•  To activate (start/open) eType, double click on the eType icon located on your desktop. The eType window will appear when you start typing (after 3 keys, unless defined otherwise in your Settings).
• To close eType, enter the right click menu from the status bar and choose “Quit.”
Please note that you can open or close eType at any time as well as disable it in a specific program or resume activity.

4.2 How do I activate eType selectively?

Press on the keys “Ctrl” and “F8″ to pause and resume eType in almost any program or application.
Also, you can open the right click menu from the system tray icon & press “Enable eType” (for resume) or “Disable eType” (for pausing without quitting).
You can choose any other set of keys via the Settings/General tab.

4.3 What programs are compatible with eType?

eType is currently in its Beta phase, working in full integration with most programs, browsers and Websites, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Gmail, ICQ , Windows Messenger, LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter – to name a few.
In chrome, we are not able to track your exact position so you can drag and move eType’s suggestion window (once you activate it in chrome as described above).
If you encounter scenarios in which eType works sporadically, please note that we try not to complete you in one-line fields, so we won’t disturb in password or email fields.

4.4 How do I disable eType?

Disabling eType is very easy; all you have to do is press on the keys “Ctrl” and “F8″.
Also, you can open the right click menu from the system tray icon & press “Enable eType” (for resume) or “Disable eType” (for pausing without quitting).
You can choose any other set of keys via the Settings/General tab.

4.5 How do I keep eType open all the time?

If you want to keep eType open all the time, click on the “pin” icon located on the window’s top right corner (next to the “close” icon) and drag eType to the desired location by continuously pressing on the window header while dragging.

Black pin icon indicates a follower position.
Red pin icon indicates a pinned position, which is constantly open.
